Product description

The Nagema Patriot was designed by Ernst Reinecke and the first glider constructed in the German Democratic Republic DDR.

Google Translate

The construction started in November 1951 in a foundry hall of the VEB Nagema in Schmiedeberg under patronage of the FDJ and was finished 1952. The first flight took place on 31 May the same year in Leipzig-Mockau. During an air day of "IV. Parliament of the FDJ ", the glider was first presented to the public in Leipzig-Mockau. After completion of the test it received the registration DDR-3000. In the end, the Patriot was not produced in series because its performance, despite the good aerodynamic design was below expectations.

In September 1953, the Patriot was last flown during a training course in Schönhagen. Afterwards she went to the airfield Laucha for some tests, but was flown there very a little. The aircraft was finally handed over to the Technical University of
Dresden for fracture tests and was exhibited hanging from the ceilng,  where it fell down some time later and broken up.

One civil versions included

Please note, due to the very high production costs it is unlikely that a new production run of this kit run will be made. So if you want one, get it before they are sold out
