The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-13 was one of the final and most advanced versions of the Fw 190 series, developed to maximize the potential of the airframe with the powerful Junkers Jumo 213F engine featuring a two-stage, three-speed supercharger for superior high-altitude performance. Unlike earlier Dora variants, the D-13 was armed solely with a 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon firing through the propeller hub and two 20 mm MG 151/20 cannons in the wing roots, eliminating the nose-mounted machine guns found on previous models to reduce weight and improve balance. It used a broad, three-bladed VDM propeller designed to efficiently handle the increased torque of the Jumo 213F, contributing to excellent climb and acceleration characteristics. Only a few D-13s were completed before the war ended, making it one of the rarest and most refined piston-engine fighters of the Luftwaffe.
