The two seat Grumman Cougar was one of the first swept-wing trainers to be put into service with the Navy and was also one of the first two seat version of a fleet fighter. Before this the new pilots were just given a lot of ground training and just given the keys.

This book covers all of the different uses of the trainer from the Naval Training Command to the combat mission it flew in Vietnam.

97 pages, colored front and back cover, over 204 B&W photos, 9 pages of diagrams and scale drawings, 6 pages of cockpit photos, photos of the Navy and USMC Squadron who trained, flew and deployed with the F9F-8T/TF-9J and 2 pages of model reviews.
