Category Aviation Books, Subcategory WW2 UK Aircraft, ISBN/Box 9780857333629, Series Owners' Workshop Manual, Publisher/Brand Haynes, Author Jim Humberstone, Format a4, No. Pages 160, Version Hard cover, Language English

Affectionately known as the 'Stringbag' by its crews, the Fairey Swordfish biplane torpedo bomber was obsolete by 1939, but it still achieved some spectacular successes during the Second World War, including the famous crippling of the German battleship Bismarck in 1941. The centrepiece of this manual is Swordfish Mk II, LS326, operated by the Royal Navy Historic Flight from RNAS Yeovilton. The author and Haynes have been given unique access to this rare aircraft, which is one of only two airworthy examples in the world.

A classic aircraft, famous for crippling the German battleship Bismarck and protecting North Atalantic convoys in WWII.
Published with the full cooperation of the Royal Navy Historic Flight (RNHF).
Rare and previously unseen photographs of the RNHF's airworthy Swordfish undergoing major overhaul.
Insights into flying and maintaining the Swordfish in wartime and today.
The Royal Navy Historic Flight Swordfish is one of only two flying worldwide.
