The decision to launch Douglas-type serial production in the USSR crystallized in the spring of 1936. On April 11, 1936, the Soviet Labour and Defense Council (STO) issued a resolution on the purchase of a DC-3 production license. The final contract with Douglas Soviets signed through Amtorg July 15, 1936. This publication is devoted to the introduction of production of DC-3 / Li-2 in the USSR, produced versions including bombing. Service and deployment during World War II and post-war service including export. Lots of period photographs and colour side views.
