Russian and Soviet Ground Attack Aircraft

Ground attack, anti-tank and close air support aircraft; light and short range bombers; counter insurgency and armed reconnaissance planes. Aircraft that have been represented by some prominent exponents amongst air forces, and that along their development met, like few others, alternate fortunes following the mutations of the military doctrines. There is one single word in Russian language, to define these typologies of warplanes, conceived to work close to ground troops. The russian hard-totranslate term Samolety Polya Boya, literally means: "Battlefield Aircraft". This book deals with Russian and Soviet aircraft belonging to the above mentioned category, as a chronological review that follows the history starting from the very first years of use of military aviation, until the end of the last Century, aimed to describe the complex as fascinating and not so known evolution of these machines. After a long work of research, the research is a collection of descriptions of over 160 models, with a strong graphic set including detailed and exclusive drawings yet unpublished.
