Among the most successful fighter biplanes of the 30th of the last century belong the Fiat CR.32 Freccia (arrow), produced in large quantities for the Italian Air Force and for export. The type is particularly famous for its participation in the civil war fights in Spain, but also hit a series of World War II clashes. He flew over four continents: over Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Fiat CR.32 also played an important role in the story of Czechoslovak aviation. In the second half of the 1930s, the first victims of our pilots in the struggle against Nazism and fascism caused the Fiat CR.32. On May 31, 1937, Freccia-controlled Italy shot down a Potez 540 bomber from the Spanish Republican Air Force at Mediterranean Mallorca, in which Czechoslovak volunteers fell, fighting by the then leftist diction "at Madrid for Prague", Josef Soušek and Zden?k Talaš. Only the injured and captured pilot Jan Ferak survived from the crew. On tense days of the territorial trimming of the then Czechoslovakia as a result of the Munich Agreement shot down 25th October 1938 Hungarian Fiat CR.32 over the Hungarians required territory of southern Slovakia observation Letov Squadron 10, while the observer st. asp. Jaromír Šotola. Pilot des. John Kello got burned.
