Product description

In the second half of the twenties and the first half of the thirties of the twentieth century, the American company Curtiss made a name for itself with fighter biplanes, sold under the trade name Hawk. Individual versions were successfully used both by the US Army Air Force USAAC and the US Navy Air Force, as well as by a number of foreign users. These aircraft (it should be noted here that the designation Hawk was not officially used in any form by the US Naval Air Force) became very popular not only in the armed forces, but because they "looked good" also among the general public and also abroad. In their time, they even became a kind of synonym for the American fighter biplane. The company gradually produced them in a number of versions, which received more and more powerful engines, gradually some structural and aerodynamic improvements appeared on them, but the basic structure remained the same. This publication is devoted to the F11C-2 (designated BFC-2 from March 21, 1934) and their export counterparts, the Hawk II, which were deployed by many air forces in South America, Asia and Europe.
